Baby Maddox

Pat's sister Lana had a baby yesterday! His name is Maddox. He is just the sweetest thing! I am so very excited and happy for her, she has had alot of trials in her life and had some problems with the pregnancy. We are all very happy that Maddox is here and that Lana will be feeling better. We Love You Lana!

Mara has decided that she likes Xanders hat. Whenever she finds it, she will try to put it on (with some success) and walk around the house. She actually got the bill of the hat in front of her face and triped over a few things. It was cute! In these pictures she put the hat on by herself. I think that I need to get her her own hat, we'll see :)

So Mara has official discovered Xander's Lightsabers. She even tries to fight with him :) This is a little bit of tonights duel. She is definitely her daddys daughter! Now if she would just say "Yoda" (That was Xander's first Star Wars character that he knew. He said it "Yee-da") It makes a mother proud!!

The Summer Hair Cut!

It's official! Summer has started. And with it the summer hair cut! Pat buzzed Xander's hair this morning, then I buzzed Pat's hair! It is always fun to have Xander's hair short because he has some fun "Alfalfa" hair when it's longer. Now I don't need to worry about combing his hair for awhile! :) Here are some fun pics of the event!

Swim Lessons Day 2

Our second day at the pool! Today was a little overcast and windy, but we got in anyway! We did a recap on the lesson from yesterday, and learned to roll over from back to belly! Xander actually put his face in the water to blow bubbles, so that is an improvement! He decided to walk (in the water) from one side of the pool to the other that had the slide, but he would not go down the slide until it was time to get out! I can already tell that he is liking this and is going to love the pool this summer :) Here are some pics of today.

Swim Lessons

Today I took Xander to the Scera Pool for his first swim lesson. It is a parent/child class, so I get to go in the water with him! We got there a little early and Xander wanted to immediately run into the water :) I told him that we had to wait until our class started. Once we were able to get in the water he wanted to go over to the mini slide. I thought for sure he was going to run away from me and go, but he was a good boy and stayed with me. He has always been a little hesitant of the water (even in the bathtub) so I knew that he needed this class. The first thing that he learned was to blow bubbles in the water. (He didn't want to get his face wet, so the teacher said that he could just blow on the water to see it move) He kept on telling me that he was "Too big for the water" or that he was "Too big" to do anything the teacher asked him to do :) He is always trying to get out of doing things that he knows that he should do! Then the teacher gave each kid a little toy to play with and I kept dropping it in the water to make him bend down and get it. (so it made him get in the water a little more) Next he learned how to float on his back and belly. He was resting his head on my shoulder and body on my arm. Then he learned how to jump in to the pool! That was a fun one :) Then we learned how to move our arms and pretend that our hands were Ice Cream scoops. After that I pulled him around the pool when he was on his belly! By this time he was starting to get the hang of it. At the end of class they had free time, so all the kids went over to the Slide! Xander went down about 6 times before we had to get out, but he wasn't ready! I am glad that I am doing this class with him to build his confidence, I almost wish that I would have done it last summer! This class lasts for 2 weeks and it is everyday! So we get to play again tomorrow! I forgot to take my camera today, but I will get some pics tomorrow :)

Hogle Zoo!

We went to the Hogle Zoo for the first time in 2 years. They have changed alot since then! Xander had a lot of fun running around and finding all of the animals! His favorite were the snakes and bats! (He is such a boy!) I don't think that Mara really knew what was going on :) Here are some of our highlights!

Disneyland!

I just recently got back from a great trip to Disneyland! I was able to leave Pat home with the kids, so it made the trip extra nice to get away for a few days. I went with my mom, my sister Karri and a bunch of other girl family members. We had alot of fun laughing, taking pictures, and making my older aunts ride Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Tower of Terror and California Screamin'! Needless to say, they only did them the once :) It was a great trip for me, but I missed my little family. They were waiting for me when I got home and gave me big hugs and kisses. Mara almost cried when she saw me, so that made me feel good. I appreciate Pat for letting me do this. It has been a long year since I quit working and stayed home with the kids. I love being home, but as you all know, it is great to get away. You come back appreciating your husband and kids a little more!

I hope that I can keep up on this blog. This is a new adventure for me. So please check back for new pics. There should be some fun ones with the summer comming up!! ;)
