Tid Bits

Here are some tid bits from the past week.
On New Years when we were at Morri & Liza's, Mara found one of Addi's Tinkerbell dress ups. I just love the picture.
The past 6+ months Mara has only worn nightgowns to go to sleep. This all started because she would take her jammies (top and pants) off in the middle of the night and I would find her in only a diaper in the morning, but she wouldn't do this with nightgowns. Anyway, we got a bag of hand-me-downs that were Addi's clothes and there were these really cute jammies in them. Pat put her in the jammies the other night and she loved them!!!
I have had to put together Xander's Dinosaur Lego set a few different times and these are the results.
After about 7 weeks of potty training Mara finally finished her chart. I had actually stopped putting stickers on for awhile, because she didn't need the encouragement anymore. So the past few days we have made sure to fill it all the way up!! I am so proud of her. I always thought that when the potty training was done that we would get out the toddler bed for her. And we did!!!! She has spent 1 night in her new bed and did better then I thought she would. She only got up 2 times. Once because of Xander going to the bathroom, and the other because she thought her bed was wet. She still got up about 8:30 and was so happy to be able to get out of bed by herself. I just hope that she will do better tonight.
As many of you know, I have been collecting the Indiana Jones Adventure Heroes guys. I originally bought only the guys from Raiders and Temple of Doom. I was also able to send away for this guy!! For some reason I had decided that I didn't want to get the ones from Crystal Skull, until I found out that I probably wouldn't be able to find the ones from Last Crusade anywhere because all the Indy toys are on clearance at all the stores. So I finally decided to buy the Crystal Skull guys and was lucky enough to find them at Toys R Us!!!
Indiana Jones & Col. Dovchenko
Indiana Jones & Ugha Warrior
Mutt Williams & Irina Spalko
(Side note: I was able to find the Last Crusade guys on eBay today and bought them!!! Thanks again Mom for the money from Christmas!!! I will post pictures when I get them)
The same day I got my guys we went to IKEA and I got a few shelves for our room. Because Pat had to take over the last shelf in the bookcase and kicked out my pictures so I needed somewhere to put them. I was able to find some plain wood shelves and painted them black. It was only 8 bucks to get the 2 shelves & brackets, I already had the black paint, and then got some varnish for 5 bucks. I love being able to do fun projects for cheap. Now I need to get some new pictures for the frames. I have 3 pictures of Xander as a baby, and none of Mara. My sister Karri had given me an idea for a good way to display pins. I have glued foam on frames then pushed the pins through. So I have a picture (bottom shelf, far left) of Pat & I during the 2002 Olympics, right before we got married, and I have a bunch of Pins from the Olympics on it. It's such a great way to remember that time. There is another one of Karri, Mom, & Me when we were in Disneyland, and I have some pins on the frame from that trip. And these shelves are great for my Indy guys too!!
Btw: My toe is doing okay. The upper part of my foot is pretty green still, but I'm able to walk without the shoe (I only wear it when I'm out of the house). It's hard to keep it elevated all the time with the kids running around all day. But I've been able to finish a cross stitch and crochet some more on a blanket that has been sitting for probably a year! I will spare everyone real pictures of the foot, the x-ray will have to be enough.

I'm The Proud Owner of...

A Broken Toe!!!!
And it's my first broken bone too!

So this just happened a few hours ago! I am such a klutz and was just following Mara to the bathroom and stubbed my foot on a metal kids chair that Mara left in the hallway. I KNOW, SO STUPID!!!! Of course it hurt so badly but I still had to help her in the bathroom. When we were done, my mom helped me get some ice and lay down on the couch. I was nervous to take my sock off because of the pain, and when I did, my toe was going the wrong way!!! So that's when I started crying. So I'm laying on the couch and had my mom call her sister that is a nurse. She said that it would just need to be taped and that's all that can be done for toes. Then I call Pat and tell him what happened, and of course start to cry all over again, because I was nervous and scared that it was broken. After I calmed down, I called my doctors office, but they were closed. So my mom called hers and got the address for their new InstaCare that is really close to us. We decided to go there and called Chris (my bro-in-law) to come over and stay with the kids while we were gone. When we got to the InstaCare there wasn't anyone ahead of us. So after filling out paperwork I got into a room, then did a few x-rays. I took pictures of the x-rays with my phone. We were only at the InstaCare for about an hour, which was great not to wait too long! Now I have my toes taped and have a walking shoe, because I was having to hop on my right foot to get anywhere. I just have to wear it for awhile and go into the office in 8 weeks for a follow up x-ray!!

What a great way to start off a new year!!

New Years Eve

On New Years Eve Pat & I went to Morri & Liza's house and took Rock Band with us!! It was so much fun playing with everyone there! My nephew Carter and his friend had played before and did pretty good. We all took turns playing everything and had a great time!! We also watched 'Eagle Eye' which was better then I thought it would be.
Thanks again for having us over!
Pat & Carter
Carter, Liza, & Lana
Alex rockin' out on the drums!
Addi wanted a turn on the drums so Pat helped her out.
A great Rock Band pose!!! (Morri & Pat)
Too bad the boys got the bunny ears in there.
This is the best!! JR & Pat were having a great time being Rock Stars!!
Liza loved the guitar!
(This was a natural pose, unlike the pictures of the boys!)
Lana & Me
My husband being awesome on the guitar!

I just can't believe that 2008 is already gone! It's been a great year and I know that 2009 will be even better!! It's going to be a really busy time for us the next few months, with Pat student teaching, but I know it will be well worth it!! Here are a few things that will be going on for us: Pat will be graduating in April and hopefully have a job lined up soon after. And with that being said, we are hoping to be able to buy a house this year too! Xander will also be starting Kindergarten in the fall, I can't believe that he is getting that big!! And once again I'm planning to lose some weight (I said this last year too, but didn't follow through). So we'll see how it all goes :)

I know that 2009 will be a great year!!!

Friends

(Stefanie, Kristen, Annika w/ Keilah, Me w/ Mara, Courtney, & Erin)
(Xander took the picture!)
On Monday I was able to have a bunch of friends from high school over. We were able to hang out for a few hours and catch up. It was especially great because Kristen lives in Kentucky and Annika lives in Texas and they were both here visiting for the holidays!! We were all in choir together and have been friends ever since :) I love that I have friends that have stuck by me for over 10 years! These girls are wonderful and I am thankful to call them my friends.

I love that Sawyer didn't want to be under the paper, but she is laughing and loving it from the sidelines!!
Thanks Lisa for taking the video and letting me steal it :)

And the whole Twilight series from Karri!!
Pat got the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. It's 3 huge books and totally awesome!!

And a way fun Star Wars Trivia Book!!

I got Karri 'Breaking Dawn' and a Minimate of Chef Duff from Ace of Cakes!!!
I love this picture of Sawyer and Grandma Joan.
My cousin Jennifer suggested that we get pictures together and make a book for our Grandma for Christmas. So that is what we did!! I was able to put it together and she love, love, loved it!! Lisa took a video of her opening it and I'm trying to load it so Jennifer can see it. (She lives in San Fran)
We have this tradition that started when my dad was a kid that after all the presents are opened the kids hide under the wrapping. Then someone says "Where are all the kids?" then they all pop up!! The kids just love doing this! (Trying to load a video of this too!)

It was a great Christmas and we were able to spend the day with family. I am so grateful for my family and all that they do for us. I am grateful for the Savior and this time of year when we are able to celebrate his birth. I just hope that we can remember it throughout the year.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at Pat's parent's house along with his siblings. It was so great to be together as a family. The kids did the nativity, we ate yummy food and had a fun time together!
Addi & Mara
Noah & Alex were running amok in the basement with the kids and decided that they wanted to become a 2 headed monster!! It's a good thing that grandma has fun clothing in the dress-up box. Some of the kids waiting for the prayer.
And of course a funny face picture!
I have to get pictures of me & Pat whenever I can, because we just don't have that many together!
The kids got all dressed up and acted out the nativity. Mara was the angel.
Here we have Joseph (Xander), Mary (Addi) & the Angel (Mara).
A Shepherd (Carter) & Joseph (Xander)
Jacob was great and read the story from Luke while the kids acted it out. Cody, Alex, & Noah were the wise men!! I just love their crowns!
Grandpa Tolman doesn't like to get his picture taken, so I snap one whenever I can :) At least he will smile on occasion.
A really sweet pic of Carter & MaraAll of Pat's siblings (including us) got Roger & Tammy an 8x10 digital photo frame for Christmas. We were able to load it with over 300 pictures too! Tammy's mother Ethel has been visiting from Tennessee and staying with them for the month. It's been so great to have her here, especially for Christmas. We love Grandma Ethel!!!!
In a bunch of my pictures I noticed that there was a weird smudge that was showing up. So I looked at my lens and noticed a fingerprint. I sat there wondering where it had come from then I remembered taking this picture of my nephew Maddox!!! He is such a curious kid!!
We got an All Girls picture and even Addi & Mara got in on the fun!
I got these cute pics of Mara talking to Grandma Ethel!
When we got home the kids opened up their Pj's and we got ready for bed :)
I will post more pictures tomorrow.
