The Adventures of Starbuck

I decided to bring along my Minimate of Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica (she's a little bigger then a Lego guy) and get pictures of her in fun places. Instead of posting them all, I made a slide show of them. So just skip this post if you don't care :)

Day 3

After taking the bus in the mornings and realizing how slow they were, we found that there was a shuttle van that took us directly there from our hotel! This guy was amazing and we were there in under 5 minutes!
Pat & I on the shuttle
Catherine & Karri on the shuttle with a bit of a photo-bomb from us.
Friday was our panel day. The shows that we liked were all having panels in Ballroom 20. So we got in early for 'Stargate Universe' (which I don't have any pictures of, since we aren't fans of SGU). Then it was time for 'Caprica'/'Battlestar Galactica: The Plan'. Caprica is a spin-off of BSG premiering in January. It is a story of 60 years before BSG. One of the stars that was there from Caprica is Easi Morales (who plays William Adamas father) and then Edward James Olmos (who is William Adama in BSG) talked about BSG: The Plan (he directed it). Up next it was The Big Bang Theory!!
Here's the whole cast:
I got up and asked a question. I was second in line and took video when I was up there, but mine is really shaky. Karri also took video, but I was able to find a clip on YouTube of my question. So instead of trying to upload a video I'm just linking the other one here!

Here is a link to Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock.

After my question, walking back to Karri & Pat.
Another shot of the whole cast.
Pictures of us in between panels. Catherine, Me & Karri
Next it was '24'. We only cared about this one because Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck on BSG) is going to be on 24 this next season and she was there.
Pat left and went to the floor for the rest of the afternoon and saw Mark Hamill!! Looks like Luke Skywalker is getting old!
After the '24' panel they had one for 'Bones', but we don't watch that one either, so no pictures. But after that was 'Dollhouse' with Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku
Pat was able to come back into the room and hang with us for the last panel of the day. It was TV Guides Sci-Fi. From right to left: John Cho (Sulu in the new Star Trek movie) talking about his new show 'Flash Forward', then Jim Parsons & Johnny Galecki from 'Big Bang Theory', then Rebecca Romijn from the new show 'Eastwick', then Zachary Levi from 'Chuck', then Scott Wolf from the new remake of 'V', then 2 producers, and the real Allison Dubois (the show 'Medium' is based on her life) that is going to have a reality show about cracking cold cases!!
It was a really long day of sitting, but we were able to see the shows that we cared about.

Day 2

Pat got up early and went to the convention center so he could get in line to get on the floor so he could buy some more toys. Karri and I took the bus (which took way too long) and arrived at the convention center about 15 minutes before they opened the doors.
We got our picture with Pikachu!!!
There are always tons of actors at Comic Con. Usually you have to have a ticket to get signatures and pictures, but we were lucky in that actors from Battlestar Galactica (BSG) were at a table and we could walk right up and get pictures taken (for a small fee).
This is actor Michael Hogan, he plays Col. Saul Tigh on BSG!
And Edward James Olmos, who plays Admiral William Adama on BSG I was totally shaking afterwards! It is such a thrill to meet someone that you have watched for years and love their work.
This is Bear McCreary. He is the composer for BSG and his music is AMAZING!!! I was able to snag a picture with him before the BSG panel.
In the BSG panel: Luciana Carro aka 'Kat' (far left), guy with mic is Richard Hatch (whom I met last year), then Bear and 2 others.
Afterwards we went back down to the floor and saw James Callis who plays Dr. Gaius Baltar on BSG. He's Pat's favorite and Pat was wearing his Baltar shirt too!! James thought it was cool!
Pat & I outside the convention center waiting for the bus.
This one is for you Stefanie!!!!!!!!
We were going to stay for a few more panels (like New Moon and Robot Chicken) but decided to leave earlier than planned so we could get on the road to Disneyland! It was Karri's Birthday and she got in free!!!!!
On the parking tram.
With the Mickey Flowers
All of us with the Celebration Balloons.
I was trying to be artistic so I got a bunch of random pictures!!!
Walt & Mickey
Karri on Buzz Lightyear. She got an amazing score! (I'll find out what it was and post it later)
In line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad The Birthday Girl and BTM
Disneyland has a new fireworks show for the summer. We were on Main Street, so we didn't get the best pictures, but it was cool anyway.
Then we headed over to Downtown Disney, to get some last minute things at the World of Disney store and the Lego Store.
There was this awesome Lego mosaic of the castle with fireworks! I love it!
Mine and Pat's scores on Buzz Lightyear. My score is really sad :(
We got back to the hotel after midnight, and my cousin Catherine had flown in and was already in the room when we got back! Day 2 was alot of fun, and there's more to come.

Comic Con Day 1 - Preview Night

We left last Wednesday bright and early and got on the road by 4 AM!! We stopped for breakfast in St. George then made our way to San Diego. On the way we stopped in Baker, Home of the Worlds Biggest Thermometer!! At almost 11 am it was already 99 degrees!!!!!
While on the road we saw this truck, and I loved the saying so I had to take a picture!!!
After getting to San Diego, we headed over to the Convention Center. There was a bus stop across from our hotel that ran especially for the convention. It was nice on the way back to the hotel, but it would have been faster to walk the 1 1/2 miles to the convention center, then to wait for the bus and sit in traffic to get there.
We got to the convention center and got our badges early. We waited for about an hour or so to get onto the floor. This is a view of some signs in the coolness that is the convention center. This place is HUGE!!!
We started watching the first season of Dexter before we left, so I was excited to see banners for the show.
And we have seen the first season of True Blood too and there are banners all over for the show too! I loved it!
When we finally got onto the floor, Pat went over to buy his stuff and Karri and I wandered. We found a booth promoting a new video game Marvel Super Hero Squad!! (like my Indiana Jones Guys) The game was fun to play and it should be out before Christmas!!
We also played TMNT Smash-Up! It's like Smash Bros Brawl. I was April and I totally beat Karri!!
They were promoting the new LEGO Rockband game coming out soon, so there was a whole guitar, microphone and drum set made out of Legos!!
Lego is also making Toy Story sets too! So there was a giant Buzz Lightyear!!!
In the Mattel booth there was a He-Man's sword. Pat ignored the sign and tried to take it.
Here are some of the Lego Toy Story guys.
We found yet another game to try out! The new Indiana Jones Lego 2 game. They have re-done all of the levels and added Crystal Skull to the game too! You can even play the game split screen if you have 2 people playing!! I'm really excited about this one :)
The floor was only open for a few hours, but Pat was able to get most of his toys that night. Here we are waiting for the bus to take us back to the hotel.
What a cute couple!
I'm still editing pictures from the other days, so I'll get them posted as soon as I can.
