Old Things Found!

I just found a notebook that I was using last year. In it I had written some quotes of Xander's!  I love finding these treasures :)


11-1-08: I just never want to take a bath again because I get sticky and can't get my underwear on!

The best was just the other day! He was talking to Mara about colors and started to spell the word blue, but got a letter wrong so I told him it was b-l-u-e.  So he turns around and tells Mara that you spell it b-l-y-o-u-e. Then he started to laugh because he knew he was being funny!!!  What a character!

Now I just need to pay more attention to Mara. She says some pretty funny things too.

Drawings

Mara has started drawing people and I LOVE THEM!!!!  I just wish she would draw them on paper so I can keep them, but she'll only do it on the Doodle! At least I can take pics of them.

Sickies

We got hit by the "Swine Flu" last week.  These three got it, but I just had Bronchitis (thank goodness).  We spent most of the week lying around the house and watching movies.  I know I've seen Peter Pan way too much lately, but Mara is loving that movie right now!! 
I'm just very grateful that we all survived it and that we are on the other end of it now.  We're all feeling good and life is back to normal :)

All Hallows Eve

We were able to go to my sister in laws ward Trunk or Treat on Friday which was good because my kids started to get sick!! (sorry no pictures) Saturday night Brent & Lisa came over with their kids to Trick or Treat on my mom's street. My kids really wanted to go with them, so we threw their costumes on and off they went!! I stayed at the house to hand out candy so Pat went around with my mom, Karri, Brent & Lisa & kids, and Xander & Mara. I'm so lucky that Karri, Mom & Lisa took pictures!! They just walked the cul-de-sac, but it was enough to make them happy!

My Aunt & Uncle have this giant spider that they put up every year! My kids LOVE it and were very happy to get a picture with it! (notice Sawyer in the background: apparently she was very nervous to be around it)

Ramey Halloween Party

We had our 3rd Annual Ramey Halloween Party on Wednesday. I was so excited because I was able to curl Mara's hair!!! It took at least 20 minutes and a TON of hairspray, but it looked great! Too bad it didn't last very long :(

She begged and begged for us to get a crown that matched her dress and then she only wore it for a few pictures. Crazy girl!

Sweeney Todd

Last Friday we were able to go as a family to see Sweeney Todd: In Concert, because my brother JD was in it!! It was at the 'castle' amphitheater in the freezing cold, but we had fun anyway with our hot chocolate!

Pumpkins!!!!

Tuesday night while daddy was at class we got the two little pumpkins off the porch and the kids painted them! I had to strip Mara down because she has ruined some clothing with paint in the past, it's a good thing I did it, she had paint all over her chest!

Wednesday morning Pat got the big ones out and carved them! Xander drew a picture of what he wanted it to look like and Pat carved it for him!

Here's Mara's: she drew the eyes (4 squished together) and I did the nose and mouth, and Pat carved.

The kids didn't like the pumpkin guts, really what kid would. But Mara kept on saying "I don't like the guppies" and pointing to the pumpkins. So we had to keep reminding her that it was called 'guts' and not 'guppies'.

What a silly girl!!

A Week Long Birthday!

Last Tuesday we had Pat's parents over for dinner and they brought Xander his birthday gifts (since they were going out of town) Mara was such a good sister by helping him open his gifts :)

He got an awesome Lego set, a GI Joe T-Shirt and Transformers PJ's. Grandpa even helped Xander put most if it together!!!!

On Wednesday Night we took the kids to the new Pirate Island!!

It's decorated so well that it makes you feel like you stepped right into the Pirates of the Caribbean!!!

They even give the kids free tokens :)

After we ate, we headed over to the arcade and Xander took part in his favorite game: Ski ball!

After Pirate Island we took the kids and Noah to the dollar theater to see the new Harry Potter. Noah loved it, Xander fell asleep at the end and Mara was an absolute MESS!!!!!! I will never take her to a movie again!!!!!!!

Friday morning (his actual birthday), Pat had to go to work early, so we pulled out the presents while I was still in bed! And he got yet another Lego!!

That afternoon I took him to see my friend Stefanie and get his hair cut!

I love the spiky look, too bad his hair is thick like mine so it lays flat within an hour!

After Pat got out of work, we gave him our last present. Yes, a Lego set!

After dinner we headed out to Pat's brother Morri's house. We watched Land of the Lost and had ice cream shakes :) And Xan got another Lego :)

Sunday was the Ramey family birthday celebration. My sister Karri loves making cakes and let Xander take charge of the cake :)

He got his last Lego set and a Snuggie & some clothes from my mom. A ton of Star Wars stuff from Karri, the movie Monsters VS Aliens from JD & Chris.

The Big 6!!!

I can't believe it's been 6 years since this little boy came into our lives. I've made it easier for myself and just picked pictures from the past Octobers. It's amazing how fast kids grow.
