I've Got A Lot Of Bloggin To Do

On August 4th while Grandma Ethel Poulton was in town we were able to go out to lunch, just the girls. It was alot of fun and it makes me very grateful that we live so close to family and that we're able to spend so much time together.
Liza, Me, Grandma, Tammy, Ashley, Lana, & Gwen

Jaina has really started to smile alot, it makes me happy :)

My good friend Susan recently had a baby and I was lucky that there was actually something that she needed, seeing as this was her 3rd baby. I got to make a car seat cover for her!!  I copied the pattern of the one that my friend Andrea made me, and it turned out WAY CUTE!!!  I LOVE IT!!

I've also been wanting to organize the drawer that holds all the girls hair stuff for awhile, but just couldn't decide what I wanted to do until now!
Before:

I bought a 16x20 frame for 10 bucks. Used paint, varnish, batting, fabric, and ribbon that I already had!!  It was a quick project (once I found time to make it). I've also bought some white hooks to put on the bottom, so I can hang headbands, but that hasn't been done yet. But at least it's hung up in the bathroom!!!
After:

And no post would be complete without a picture of my 3 sweeties!

Cabin Weekend

We were able to take Pat's brother Morri & his family down to our cabin the last weekend of July. It was so nice to spend almost 3 full days there. Since it's up for sale, we're trying to go down as much as possible, which sadly isn't very often. But we had a great time with family!

We stopped off at T-Cee's for lunch before going up the canyon to the cabin.
Here's Mara and Addi waiting for our food.
Xander, Alex, and Carter
Pat & I
Morri & Liza
Once we got there the boys set up some targets and practiced with Pat's blow dart gun. Xander did awesome and got a bulls eye!!!!
Morri bought some BB Guns and they set up pop cans as targets. Xander did pretty good with these too! But I just can't believe that my little boy is old enough to shoot a gun. (it's not going to happen again for a long time)
The first night we took a walk/hike up and down the road, so I made sure to bring the baby carrier to make it easier for me. Jaina liked it so much that she fell asleep in it!
All the kids at the top of the road. We didn't find many bugs, but they liked having the nets.
What silly boys!
Addi, Liza, Carter, Alex, & Morri.
Our little clan.
We made sure to get a group pic on the deck of the cabin.
Saturday was full of hanging out, watching movies, playing games and eating. We got ready to go swimming but there was a huge thunderstorm that rolled in so the pool closed. But we had a fun day anyway.
On Sunday the boys, plus Liza, took a long hike and found this pretty view!
After they came back we were able to go swimming (I didn't get any pictures of that), then had a big dinner before heading home.
About 20 minutes after getting in the car, this is what was found in the backseat.
It was a great trip filled with late nights and lazy mornings!
Thanks again Morri & Liza for coming with us, we loved it!

Dentist

I've been needing to take my kids to the dentist for awhile now, but have put it off for a long time. But since Xander lost his tooth, I've felt like now would be a good time to go.
I found a great dentist that's very very close and was able to make appointments for last Thursday. I thought that the kids would be nervous about going, but they did great!!!  When the nurse came to get Xander, Mara wanted to follow him. She was kind of bummed that she had to wait for her turn, but they called her back within 5 mintues.  Their rooms were in opposite corners, so I did alot of running back and forth.
They both did an amazing job and were happy the whole time!  Mara was way excited because she got a new toothbrush with Ariel on it!  I just hope this is the beginning of a good relationship with the dentist :)

Siblings

Who do you think she looks like?????

Great Grandma Ethel

Pat's grandma is in town for a few weeks and we had the pleasure of spending a whole afternoon with her last week.  She wanted to take me shopping to get some clothes for Jaina.  First we went to McDonald's for lunch, then to Old Navy (we got some way cute clothes), then to Toys R Us (she let Xan & Mara pick out toys), then to Baskin Robbins for some ice cream!
She is such an amazing woman and we're so lucky to be able to spend time with her.

Aunt Karri

My sister Karri had her birthday recently and every year she gets a picture of her with all the nieces & nephews.  It's fun to see how much the kids change from year to year.
This one is my favorite
The night before her actual birthday, she had a slumber party with the kids at Mana's house (our house).  They all picked their favorite snack to share:
Got in their jammies:
Then watched a movie & slept in a giant tent in the backyard!
They even got McDonald's for breakfast the next morning!
Karri is such a fun aunt. She loves and spoils all these kids. They are all so lucky to have her!
LOVE YOU, SISTER!!!!

2 Months Old

My sweet Jaina is already 2 Months Old!!!
It's amazing how fast time flies after their born.
She had her check-up today and her stats are:
Length: 22 3/4 inches  (75%)
Weight: 12 lbs 2 oz  (90%)

She jumped from the 75th to the 90th percentile in weight since her 2 week appt!  She's doing great and well on her way to being chubby like her brother and sister were. During the exam the doctor noticed that her left hip pops, so we have to go get an ultrasound on it next week to see what the problem is, so we'll know more then.

I have more to blog but it's going to have to wait for another day.

Cute Girls

Here are the pics of my friend Natalie's girls.  I've been wanting to make her girls skirts for awhile now, and finally had an excuse to do it because 2 out of 3 of them had birthdays.  So rather than buy toys for them I made skirts & flower clips.  And I had to make a matching one for the baby sister too.
Avery (5), Kate (18 months), Macy (3)
Here are the birthday girls!
Mara loves to play with them, and it seems like I'm constantly taking her over to their house to play.
Thanks again Natalie for all you've done for me :)
Here's a close up of Kate's skirt.
And the flower clips.

Toothless!!!!

Xander lost his first tooth on Monday (July 12th).
It had been really wiggly for awhile and I'm surprised it took this long to come out. I've been constantly checking his tooth to see it's progress and on Monday I realized that it was going to fall out that day. So I quickly got out my extra fabric and made this cute little tooth fairy bag for him.
But before I was done with it we checked his tooth again and I told him to go look in the mirror to see how loose it was. I grabbed the video camera and followed him to the bathroom.  I thought that I would get a little video of it's looseness, but before I know it, Xander pulled it out!!!!  I was very lucky and was able to get it on video!  He was so very excited and said "it didn't hurt one bit".  His other bottom front tooth is starting to wiggle, just a little bit. I'm guessing that it'll be another month before that one comes out.

The Randomness of Life

I love this picture! She's holding her grandpa's finger :)
A Co-worker of Pat's made Jaina some cute onsies.
This is one of my favorites.
It's a tauntaun and says "And I thought they smelled bad on the outside"!!
Gotta love Star Wars!
I ran out of contacts last week and had forgotten to grab my glasses from my room, so I had Xander get them for me and he thought it was pretty funny to wear them. Too bad he'll probably have to have glasses when he's older since both Pat & I wear corrective lenses.
Xan just loves his baby sister!
Mara went to a princess birthday party for her friend Macy and came home with her nails painted and makeup on her face!  She looked so cute! It made me realize that she's growing up too fast, at least she's only 4 and it'll be a long time before she'll start to wear makeup for real :)
My kids LOVE their aunt Karri (and her iPhone)
Last Friday (the 9th) was the midnight premiere for the Hallmark Christmas Ornaments! I love going and getting them early every year. We've been doing this for YEARS. Here's some of the princess ones for this year :)
Me, Mom, Jaina, Chris & Karri
(grandma Joan left before we got the picture taken)
I finally finished up Jaina's dress that matches Mara's and made some fabric flowers to match. They wore their dresses to church on Sunday and I had so many compliments!  I'm just happy that I've pulled out my machine again :)
A close-up of the flower.  I have some leftover fabric from some of Mara's skirts, so I'm making more. I even made skirts and flowers for my friend Natalie's girls. I'm just waiting to get a picture from her of them all dressed up to post it!
Sunday night we had an extended family Ice Cream Party at the park. So far this year there have been 6 great-grand babies born to my mom's parents (who are both gone).  These are the 3 that were born in May!
Melody & Ty (29th), Me & Jaina (28th), and Lindsay & Kairi (9th)
Ty & Jaina were born less than 24 hours apart!
Jaina is official now!!  I have her represented on the back of our car!
(Susan, thanks again for the sticker!!)
