Disneyland Day 1 - Driving

Mana had decided that she wanted to go back to Disneyland with the whole family. We were able to do this with the money from selling Grandma Joan's house. On Sunday September 7th we started our journey.

We met up with Mana, Karri, JD & Chris to caravan.

On our first rest stop JD & Karri got a little selfie happy.

It was nice to stop and let Melody out of her seat for a bit.

We weren't going to stop every time Melody was hungry (thank goodness)
so Xander was a good big brother and helped out for meal time.

We stopped in Primm, Nevada to meet up with Brent & Lisa's family.

We were stuck in traffic for hours and hours because of weather (there was a road
that got washed out) and that it was a Sunday night (always a bad traffic day).
So it took forever to get to Barstow Station to finally have dinner at 9 pm.

It was here that Mana informed us that she changed the hotel reservation to
get a better deal, it wasn't going to be across the street and have an indoor pool.

We were staying at the DISNEYLAND HOTEL!!!!!

After more crappy traffic we got to the hotel about 11 PM. The kids were so excited!!

They loved looking at the giant map of the park.

We had been keeping the destination a secret from Jaina in hopes that she would have an awesome reaction when she found out.  Sadly, it didn't turn out that way, but she was still excited to be there.

While we waited to check in to the rooms we hung out in the lobby.
There were really fun chairs that looked like tea cups!!

And mini chairs for the little kids and they were able to watch Mickey cartoons.

Finally it was time to get into the rooms in the Frontierland Tower.

We were ready to start our week long adventure!!

September 2014 Salt Lake Comic Con

It was Salt Lake Comic Con time again!
We are LOVING having this so close and to be able to share this geekdom with the kids.
We got Multi-Day passes and took the kids up for 2 of the days.

Day 1

Jaina just loves her daddy and I loved that she wanted to look at toys with him in a booth.

Karri and I were extra excited this time because our favorite artist was there: Karen Hallion.
She does a lot of Doctor Who/Disney Princess mashups.

Here we are with Karen while wearing her artwork.
Me: Who Wants to Build a Snowman & Karri: Nanny Who

She has even made a piece that is called Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Tardis.
Just like the Mo Willems books that the kids love. She even drew a pigeon on Mara's wristband!

Mara was excited to meet her too. She is wearing: Frozen In Space and Time

We walked around the floor and found some fun things. The girls liked the
Studio C booth and needed pictures with the Mallory standup.

We even found a mini Tardis.

The girls made crowns and got wands.

And even found a picture of Peach!!

Then Karri took them to the top of the Evermore booth.

And we all got to go inside the Tardis.

I had to get my Melody in the Tardis.  She was pretty happy about it too.

Then we ran into a few Weeping Angels.

Melody wasn't happy about that one though.

It's so fun to see all the people dressed up aka: Cosplaying.
Mara really liked the wedding day Ariel and she even had a dinglehopper.

Then we found Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon that was amazing.

Day 2

There are huge Lego displays and Mara loved that there were Lego Friends figures too.

And an awesome USS Enterprise 1701-D

Me and my Melody. She did so good while we were there.

The girls found a 'real' Peach and were so excited about it.
Mara is wearing another one of Karen's shirts: Adventure in the Great, Wide Somewhere.

Daddy and his lightsaber girl.

And it's not complete without a family picture with Han Solo in Carbonite.
And me in Karen's: Come Away With Me

Outside they had a giant blowup slide and the kids wanted to do it. Xander and Mara did
it just fine, but Jaina was having issues, so in came Dad to the rescue.
He was so great and helped her up and went down with her too.

Day 3

Pat took Xander and Carter with him for the last day (Saturday)
Here they are at the top of the Evermore booth looking down on the Con.

They even got in trouble for sitting in the Emperor's chair.

And almost got attacked by a Predator.

All in all it was a great time to be had. Boy do we love Comic Con!!!
