July 2015 - Independence Day

July 4th: Independence Day!!!!
We woke up early and did our traditional outing to the Balloon Fest in Provo. We waited and
waited for the balloons to fill up. Ended up that it was a bit windy so they filled up a bunch
but didn't launch them. It seems like this is our luck almost every year. But we have fun doing
it anyway, well, at least I enjoy it, maybe not everyone else. Sadly, I think the extended family
is going to vote to change tradition and stop going. Which makes me sad.

Here we are waiting

and waiting

and waiting

and waiting

and waiting

and waiting!
Lisa had to document the fact that Xander is taller than her.

But they finally started to fill up!

Last year Jaina was terrified of the balloons and didn't want to get near
them, but this year she willingly went over and touched one!!!

This year they even had Yoda and Darth Vader balloons!

Melody was in heaven and LOVED all the balloons.

Afterwards it was time for breakfast. Everyone else went somewhere past point of the mountain but we
didn't want to go that far so we opted to eat at Denny's on the way home and it was nice and quiet.

For dinner we went up to Mana's house and hung there for a bit. Melody was loving my shoes.

The girls were coloring at the counter and Melody felt the need to
color with them. She just seems so big sitting here coloring.

July 2015 - Salt Lake Seven Peaks

July 1st: We were able to go to the Salt Lake Seven Peaks with a bunch of family.
We got there early and packed lunches so we could play for a long time.

Thanks for joining us Morri & Liza, Carter, Alex, Addi, Noah & Cody

After we swam, we headed home, showered, got some dinner at Wendy's, dropped the girls off at Grandma & Grandpa's house then went to see Terminator Genisys with Cody, Morri, Liza, Carter & Alex!!!

Xander decided that July was the month to build cup towers, since he did it last July also.
I think he's going to make this an annual thing.

I probably forgot to document this, but Pat has started his Masters Degree this summer. He is at
school on Tues & Thurs all day, so it's made the days that he's home even better. For one of his
classes he had to make a video about himself with things that described him, so I was his
photographer. I love this picture of the 5 people that make up my world.

He took Melody down to his toy room to 'play' with her for the project and she just loved Kermit.

Later that day we met Karri at the mall for some dinner and shopping. Melody HAD
to hold her hand while we were walking around. It was the cutest thing ever.

June 2015 - Utah Lake

June 29th
Conli & Sawyer spent the night at our house after we had Sunday dinner at Mana's. Xander went to Brent & Lisa's.  Lisa invited us along with her and some friends to go play at Utah Lake. We figured it was a good place to swap kids.  We both had never played at the lake before. It was kinda dirty, but we had fun anyway.

Jaina really wanted to make sand castles, but didn't want to get sand on her! Silly girl!

Melody loves the umbrella and selfies.

Lisa has a waterproof camera and took some cute pictures of the kids.
Finley and Jaina

Xander, Brynn & Max

Pat took Jaina out pretty far and they even saw some fish swimming around!!

Me and my girl. I hate how I go bright red in the heat and it's not even a sunburn.

Conli, Lily, Mara, Sawyer, Finley & Jaina

Melody was really happy once she found a ball to play with.

This is my favorite of the day. She stole my sunglasses!!

My view from the umbrella. The lake is so shallow around the edges that you
can walk really far out there and still have the water up to your chest.

Thanks for the outing Lisa, it was really fun!!!!

June 2015 - 22nd-26th

June 22nd
At least once a summer we venture out for snow cones. Jaina asks for them all the time whenever
we drive by the 'shack', so she was pretty happy when we finally went. Here's all of us with
our different colored tongues. (Melody was there too, just didn't have her own snow cone)

June 23rd: We were able to attend the Payson Temple for the first time!!!!!!!
Karri was so nice and came to the house to watch the kids so we could go.
I love being inside this beautiful building with the one I love.

June 24th
We sure do love Seven Peaks, especially when we have company!

On June 26th the kids had their last day of swim lessons and had a free swim day where
parents could get close to the pool and take pictures. This is always my favorite day, even
though I usually have to run around to get pics of all the kids. But his time all 3 of them
went to the diving boards at the same time, so it worked out good for me.

I am so proud of Jaina because she had no fear jumping off the diving board to her teacher.
She even did it twice!!!!!

Xander and his cannon ball!!!

Mara has come a long way since last year. She was unwilling to go off the diving
board last year, but now she loves it and is more confident in her swimming.

Jaina even got to go down the waterslide!!

We sure love swim lessons!!

That night we had dinner at our first food truck round up!  We had yummy Asian
food at Genki, fun food at Pizza Cone, and a great chicken sandwich at Kitchen 88.
It was stifling hot and there were no tables and hardly any shade, so we took our
food over to North Park, ate at the tables there and let the kids play for a bit.
I can't wait to do this again and try some new food.
