August 2015 - Weird Al / The Start of School

August 24th
We had the chance to see Weird Al in concert with JD, Karri and friend Heidi, but this time we brought
Xander along with us. This was his first concert experience and I think it was a great one! After
getting there, I saw one of Mara's friends and realized that we should have brought her with us too,
she would have loved it. The concert was at the Sandy Amphitheater. My phone was having issues
and was completely dead, but luckily Karri let me use her phone for all of our selfie fun.

He started out the concert by singing 'Tacky', and copied the music video by walking down a
pathway into the amphitheater. JD and Heidi had been in line at the merchandise booth and
walked in when they heard the music playing. We caught their attention and tried to tell them
to turn around and look because he was going to be coming in right behind them. Needless to
say, they didn't understand, but realized it in enough time to get a close picture of him.

One of my most favorite songs: Fat!

Another favorite: White & Nerdy

We really love his latest album: Mandatory Fun, and one of the best tracks is Word Crimes. It was great
seeing him perform this because he had the music video playing on the screen at the same time.

We were able to grab a picture with the stage while we were waiting for his encore.

Encore: The Saga Begins and Yoda!!! Gotta love the Star Wars!

I love that photo-bomber.

A group picture when it was all done.

August 25th
Karri came to our house to watch the kids so we could go to the temple.
I love being able to attend this new beautiful temple.

August 26th
It was finally time for Jaina to start school, a week after Xander and Mara started. She
was so so so excited, woke up early, and was dressed and ready before everyone else.

I walked the kids to school that morning and helped Jaina into her classroom. It was perfect timing
because her good friend Leisy Greer was there early too, and they're even in the same class!!

She goes to school in the morning with Xander and Mara, then I pick her
up at 11:05. I knew that I needed to shop, so after picking her up
we went to Macey's and got a treat to celebrate the first day of school.

Now that Jaina is gone in the mornings, it's much calmer and more quiet. Melody loves to
sit on her blanket and look at books. We have been able to check out a bunch of Elephant
Piggie books from the library which is great because ALL four kids LOVE them.

August 28th
I usually spend the mornings just following Melody around, which is fun because she does some pretty funny things. On this day when it was time for her nap she felt the need to have 4 cups, a ball, and Buzz Lightyear in her crib with her. She brought them up from the basement and was determined to get them all in one trip. Right after I took this picture she dropped them all, then gathered them back up and put them in her bed.

This was the last Friday that Seven Peaks would be open and we wanted to squeeze in every bit of summer
that we could. We got there about 5:30 and stayed until 8:00 when they closed. We sure love this place.

Morri's family was able to join us too. When Melody saw Carter using
his phone, she went over, plopped in his lap and asked to see kitties.

Morri was so great and took Jaina with him down the Tube Run. She
just loves water slides so much and will go with anyone and everyone.

Pat & Xander used a double tube.

I didn't get a group picture, but made sure to get selfies with my loves.

August 29th
We went to Morri & Liza's for dinner and a movie.
Melody was set on playing in the backyard on the trampoline.

Morri went and played with her too, which made her happy.

I had to bring her inside, which made her extremely mad, and she had a slight fever, so I
knew she was cranky in the first place. But once inside, Alex brought up her favorite
toys and sat and played with her. This boy has been so amazing with my littles.

August 30th
While I was getting ready for church, I found Jaina in my room playing
with my Tsum Tsums. They were playing a Pokemon game!!

I try to check the kids teeth every few days to make sure that they are brushing properly, and
noticed that Xander had an adult tooth growing in on the side of his gums. The baby tooth
was not wiggly at all. It was the same on the other side of his mouth too, but just not as bad.
So I decided to call the dentist and see if the baby ones needed to be pulled to save his gums.

While at Costco, Jaina saw this Cinderella dress and decided that that was what she wanted
to be for Halloween. It makes her so happy and she has worn it quite a few times already.
