April 2014 Basement Update / Salt Lake Comic Con FanX

In order to take a shower, some days I would put Melody in her tub on the floor
of the bathroom and she would just sit and jabber while I showered.
But this particular day she fell asleep. It was the cutest thing ever!

After the drywall/texturing was done we spent part of spring break painting.
Morri was nice enough to come and help too.

On April 19th, Pat, Xander, Melody and I went up to Salt Lake Comic Con FanX.
It was so much fun!

Pat & Xander stayed together while Melody and I got in line for the Nathan Fillion panel.

I'm glad that I brought a few outfits for Melody, because she pooped out within the first hour in outfit #1.
So here is outfit #2.

Nathan Fillion!!!!
I met up with Karri, JD, & Chris for the panel. It was great!

Meanwhile, Xander found a shrinking TARDIS

After Nathan Fillion's panel, we hung out for Karen Gillian's panel.

Afterwards I was able to get a picture with Aaron Douglas aka Chief Galen Tyrol on Battlestar Galactica.
I was so excited to get this picture, because I missed out on it back in 2009 when I met a bunch of the cast at San Diego Comic Con. here & here

He even came and talked to Melody! I loved it!

We then headed back into another panel.
This time with Michael Dorn and Marina Sirtis from Star Trek The Next Generation.

Meanwhile, Xander played a round of Smash Bros and WON!!!

Then the boys met Zach Galligan from Gremlins.

Xander was way excited to meet Obert Skye, the author of one of his favorite books: Choke.
He said he liked the name Xander and would maybe put it in an upcoming book!

Karri & I found a TARDIS too!

The boys went to a panel for Studio C, then were able to get a poster signed by most of the cast.
Xander was so excited because he loves this show!

Jason

Matt, Adam, Jason

Mallory, James

Even though we spent most of the day apart,
I needed to get a picture with both my boys before the day was over.

And Melody in outfit #3. Which I made special because...

We got our picture with Karen Gillan who played Amy Pond on Doctor Who!!!

Also, another amazing moment for me was when I was able to meet Gates McFadden from Star Trek the Next Generation.  I was completely obsessed with her when I was a kid. The show was on when I was 6 until age 13. I loved that there was a red head on TV and so I really loved her and the character of Beverly Crusher.  Even though it was a brief moment to snap a picture, I'm so happy that I was able to meet her.
